Our Product
Sphagnum Moss, scientifically known as “Sphagnum Magellanicus,” is a plant from the moss family (Bryophytes) that grows in the swamps or wetlands located in the south of Chile.
Sphagnum Moss has extraordinary properties for the production of various plants and flowers, among which orchids are one of the most important. The orchid industry has extensively studied and developed the use of Sphagnum Moss for adequate production, providing these plants with favorable conditions for growth and optimal development.
Our Process
Harvest
Our commitment to quality begins by closely monitoring and supervising the product collection process by our suppliers, ensuring that each batch meets the standards required by our customers. This process includes a thorough inspection before being sent to our production plant.
Factory and quality department
Once at the plant, the product undergoes additional quality control by our Quality Department, which checks critical aspects of the sphagnum such as moisture and impurities, and classifies the product according to strictly defined criteria. Depending on the results, the moss is either sent directly to production to be processed according to the customer’s specifications or stored for future orders.
Packaging
The packaging is carried out ensuring proper cleanliness, moisture, and weight to achieve a final product that meets each client’s requirements. Every step of the process is supervised to ensure that quality and safety expectations are met.
